Are you excited for German football betting to begin?

The biggest leagues in Europe are well underway, with the football and online betting crowds already treated to memorable moments. The biggest stars in world football have already begun wowing the audience with their audacious skills and supreme athleticism. However, there is one league that’s yet to start that promises nothing but quality and action-packed football games. The Bundesliga has made its mark as an exciting brand of football to watch. With talents such as Robert Lewandowski, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Chicharito leading the charge, the German football league has more than enough star and firepower to keep up with Europe’s top leagues.

Are you raring for the Bundesliga to start? Don’t worry; I’ve got the fix for your Bundesliga cravings!

WEEK 1 SATURDAY:

Bayern Munich vs Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen have been wallowing in the lower half of the league table in recent years, and they will be hoping for a better result this season. The acquisition of Max Kruse from Wolfsburg will help top scorer Claudio Pizarro on the front end. However, Bayern Munich have too much talent on both sides of the pitch for Werder to even pose a threat. Mats Hummels and Renato Sanches joining Lewandowski, Franck Ribery and the rest of Bayern will prove too much for Bremen tactician Viktor Skripnik.

Borussia Dortmund vs Mainz 05

Dortmund, the other half of Der Klassiker, are eager to erase the bitter 0-2 loss to Bayern in the Supercup with an opener win over Mainz. Returning player Mario Gotze needs to perform at his best if he hopes to win back the home crowd who are seething at the sight of him. We can expect Aubameyang to score loads this season, and a nice double against Mainz should be in order.

It might be a close shave, but I predict that the Yellow Wall of Westfalenstadion should rattle Mainz easily. I’ll go bold and declare that Dortmund can beat a -1.25 Asian Handicap that pays 1.87.

Koln vs Darmstadt 98

Darmstadt made an impressive debut back in the top flight by avoiding relegation and winning the must-win matches. Manager Norbert Meier hopes that his recent acquisitions of Antonio-Mirko Colak, Sven Schipplock, and Victor Obinna results in more goals. However, a win against Koln seems to be a tall order: Koln conceded fewer goals last season, and the acquisition of Sehrou Guirassy and Artoms Rudnevs will cause problems for the already troubled Darmstadt defence.

Hamburger SV vs Ingolstadt

Both teams were mid-table last season, so the Volkspartstadion opener should be a tight contest. However, Hamburger had the better pre-season and new boy Filip Kostic should be able to harass the Ingolstadt defence. Markus Kauczinski needs to get creative again if he hopes to overcome the quality gap and repeat their 1-1 draw in February.

Augsburg vs Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg was barely edged out of Europe last season, so they will be eager to put in extra work and grab a spot in the Europa League. However, they perform terribly when pitted against Augsburg: Die Wolfe have won only two of their last head-to-head engagements. They will be hoping that their busy summer transfer window will convert actual wins.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Schalke 04

Frankfurt managed to avoid dropping out of the Bundesliga thanks to a second-half goal from Haris Seferovic during the play-off. If they want to avoid relegation again, they need all of their best defensive players to fend off Schalke’s fearsome attack. Premier League loanees Guillermo Varela and Michael Hector may not be enough to stop Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and company from scoring.

WEEK 1 SUNDAY:

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Bayer Leverkusen

Expect high-quality football from these top two sides of the German football league. Raffael and Lars Stindl shall lead the charge for Monchengladbach to repeat their 2-1 win last May. Meanwhile, Leverkusen will be missing Chicharito for the first game due to his fractured hand. Kevin Volland, Stefan Kiebling, and Julian Brandt need to pick up the pace and keep the match close.

Leverkusen have depended a little too much on Chicharito last season, so I see Monchengladbach taking this match by the reins. Monchengladbach -0.25 Asian Handicap @ 2.16 is a pick worth considering.

Hertha BSC vs Freiburg

Hertha performed well enough to qualify for Europe, and their opener against recently promoted Freiburg should be easy pickings. However, Christian Streich and the Freiburg front office have been busy bringing in talent from German and Turkish leagues. It should prove to be an interesting match, especially since Hertha only brought in three players in so far.

Hoffenheim vs RB Leipzig

Hoffenheim did a lot of deals to improve on their 15th-place finish last season. The squad is an entirely different creature if we compare them to last season’s. Saying that, it will be interesting to see how Julian Nagelsmann’s new-look club will fare against Leipzig. Leipzig’s promotion last season was their fourth in seven seasons, so they may put on a better fight than expected. Naby Keita, Leipzig’s record transfer, will immediately make waves.

This is a tough match to call. However, I surmise Hoffenheim’s long experience in the top flight will serve them well. Hoffenheim should smash a -0.25 Asian Handicap @ 2.21.
