WEEK 9 SUNDAY:

Milan vs Juventus

Milan have won four of the last five Serie A football games to elevate themselves to third, and in some style with Carlos Bacca bagging six goals so far, while M’Baye Niang has three. Coach Vincenzo Montella promised more attacking football and he’s certainly delivering so far. Juve had a toughly contested win in Lyon on Wednesday so Milan will be ready to pounce. Sampdoria vs Genoa

Genoa visit the Luigi Ferraris stadium to take on a Sampdoria side without a win in six and sliding down the table to fifteenth. Genoa are unbeaten in four, with three draws, and neither team is scoring heavily so it could be a tight affair.

Torino vs Lazio

England keeper Joe Hart has found a new lease of life in Torino and has settled his team-mates into a rich vein of form, winning three on the bounce. Visitors Lazio are two places behind in sixth and striker Ciro Immobile, with five goals, is a constant danger. This is one to watch.

Crotone vs Napoli

It’s not going too well for Napoli just now, losing last week to Roma and then suffering a shock reversal at home to Besiktas in the midweek Champions League game. So a visit to Crotone, stranded at the bottom with one point is just what they need.

Empoli vs Chievo

Struggling Empoli desperately need a result to lift them after a five-match winless streak; but it may not be a bad time to play seventh-placed Chievo who, having started strongly, have lost two of the last three. I can see a draw here at odds of 2.92.

Cagliari vs Fiorentina

The Viola just haven’t got going yet this season and sit in 14^th, whereas Cagliari have definitely found their feet at the top table, winning the last three matches and lifting themselves up to eighth. The hosts haven’t yet participated in a game of fewer than 2.50 goals!

Atalanta  vs Inter Milan

Despite only one point separating these two teams, Inter are clear favourites to win in Atalanta, but the visitors are relying heavily on the goals of Mauro Icardi, with six so far, and haven’t won in three.

Udinese vs Pescara

Those three points have been invaluable to new boys Pescara, keeping them out of the relegation zone so far, but they need to turn draws into wins if they are to survive. Udinese, in 17th place and also on seven points, have lost their last three and could be there for the taking if Pescara are brave.

WEEK 9 MONDAY:

Bologna vs Sassuolo

Sassuolo don’t really do draws, winning four and drawing three of the last seven in all competitions. The Neroverdi haven’t really recovered from losing three points after fielding an unregistered player against Pescara. Roberto Donadoni’s Bologna are without a win in three.

AS Roma  vs Palermo

Edin Dzeko has fired himself to the top of the scoring charts with seven goals, and Roma into second place. Against bottom-three Palermo, Luciano Spalletti will expect his team to close the gap on Juve if Milan do their stuff.
