Barcelona v Juventus: Back Barca to edge high-scoring second leg
Barcelona will need another mammoth victory to secure progression to the Semi-Finals of the Champions League, with Juventus 3-0 up from the first leg. But while we’d be very surprised if a four-goal swing is on the cards, the signs suggest we’ll see the hosts win – albeit narrowly.
Luis Enrique’s charges have won 13 of their last 14 games at the Nou Camp, including that 6-1 UCL mauling of Paris Saint-Germain, and a 3-0 demolition of high-flying Sevilla. However, they’ve been less impressive at the back. Having high scored in a number of those matches, they’ve also conceded on eight occasions.
That record is unlikely to improve against a Juve side who have scored in each of the last 14 games on their travels. So the 6/4 for Barcelona to win and Both Teams to Score looks like a savvy bet. A with Barcelona 1/2 to simply win – with Juve 9/2 and the draw priced up at 7/2 – we reckon the best value lies outside of the match betting. And more specifically, in plenty of goals.
Barca’s last 10 games have produced a combined 46 goals, while Juve’s last five have also delivered an entertaining 15. With that in mind, the Evens on offer for Over 3.5 Goals here looks like a smart selection, with 12/5 for us to see Over 4.5. And a staggering 16 of Blaugrana’s games this season have produced five or more strikes, including last weekend’s outing against Real Sociedad (a 3-2 win).
In the player markets, we reckon the 10/1 for Gonzalo Higuain to score twice or more looks like well worth a flutter, with the Argentine hitman having grabbed a brace in three of his last four outings. Meanwhile, for Barca, we like the look of forward Paco Alcacer, with the 23-year-old already netting against Granada and Sociedad this month, and there’s 11/8 on offer for him to net anytime here.
