For Pride and Glory: It’s the Exciting China Cup!

The four-nation China Cup football games return for its second edition, and its shaping up to be another can’t-miss live betting affair as top-tier teams from around the world vie it out at Nanning, China for pride, glory and bragging rights!

For the knockout semi-finals, China host Wales in a game where they will look to take advantage of the home court to command the betting odds. On the other match, World-cup bound Uruguay play the Czech Republic for a chance to show they are ready for the biggest stage of all.

This tournament is Ryan Giggs’ first test as Wales manager since his appointment in January. The new manager called up a strong squad headed by Everton man Ashley Williams and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, proving that he’s going to the competition to win it all.

However, a number of withdrawals due to injuries slightly damaged their cause, and they now have to find a way to fill in the void of Neil Taylor, Tom Lawrence, Joe Ledley and promising youngster Ethan Ampadu.

China, on the other hand, have a full-strength squad at their disposal composed mostly of Chinese Super League players. The likes of Gao Lin, Xiao Zhi, Wu Lei and Wu Xi, who have scored in their last three World Cup qualifiers, have also been named to the squad to bolster their firepower.

The biggest advantage of China, however, is that the crowd at Guangxi Sports Stadium will certainly do their best to make the visitors as uncomfortable as possible.

Uruguay vs Czech Republic

The first winner of the China Cup is Chile, so what are the odds that this year’s champions will be from South America again?

Uruguay will undoubtedly aim to showcase another South American domination when they meet the Czech Republic, who missed the cut to the World Cup after finishing third to Germany and Northern Ireland in Group C of the Europe qualifiers.

The difference in quality is clear, though. The Uruguayans’ are 22nd in the current rankings while the Czechs are 21 places behind at 43rd. It shouldn’t help Karel Jarolim’s side that Oscar Tabarez’ Uruguay are brimming with quality, with Tabarez even hailing his midfield that features Sampdoria duo Lucas Torreira and Gaston Ramirez, Inter Milan’s Matias Vecino and Juventus youngster Rodrigo Betancur.
