Grigor Dimitrov is the overwhelming favourite if their match history is the only thing that is to be considered.  Rotterdam was the only time Goffin beat the young Bulgarian in a match, and their forays in the clay always ended in Dimitrov’s favour.

Fortunately for the Belgian, Dimitrov has struggled to get going in the first set. Both Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Philipp Kohlschreiber took advantage of his struggles. Moreover, Goffin has played fantastically against Stefanos Tsitsipas and Roberto Bautista Agut. You’d be crazy not to go for Goffin’s -1.50 handicap for a whopping 2.81 odds. It’s a steal of a punt in my book.

Richard Gasquet vs Alexander Zverev

Richard Gasquet is on a roll after a strong start to his clay season at Casablanca. He took down Jeremy Chardy, Diego Sebastian Schwartzman, and Mischa Zverev in straight sets. He looked really good against Alexander Zverev’s older brother, with his strong service game helping him win the match.

Zverev is having a terrible game that saw himself playing full sets against Gilles Muller and Jan-Lennard Struff. His game against Struff was especially painful after committing seven double faults. While he is still the heavy favourite against the 31-year-old Frenchman, I don’t see him winning cleanly. Gasquet +1.50 @ 1.59 is the best punt to make out of all the options available.

Marin Cilic vs Kei Nishikori

These two men have played each other countless times in the tour, and their current scorecard is about even. Marin Cilic could even the score if he wins against Nishikori at Monte Carlo.

Nishikori had to play unseeded, toiling through tough matches against Tomas Berdych and Andreas Seppi. Meanwhile, Cilic is practically rested after Milos Raonic was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury. It’s not hard to imagine the Croat pushing his Japanese opponent to the limit after having a match’s worth of rest.

However, it is important to note that Nishikori won a good number of breakpoints against Seppi and will definitely hound Cilic for every point he scores. I see this game going the distance with Cilic making the narrow win. Cilic’s Money Line odds of 1.74 is the best option out of all the available odds in the market.
