Inzaghi hoping to build momentum

Lazio head coach Simone Inzaghi has challenged his side to continue building momentum at the expense of rivals Roma on Friday.

After a mixed start to the Serie A campaign, Lazio appear to have found their feet over recent weeks and just at the right time ahead of Friday's Derby della Capitale.

They are yet to taste defeat in 2021, winning each of their last two outings and their only defeat since 12th December came away at league leaders AC Milan.

Friday's clash will be a serious test of how far I Biancocelesti have come as they square off against a Roma side enjoying a strong campaign.

Roma sit third in the standings and unbeaten in four as they attempt to improve on last season's disappointing fifth place finish.

Inzaghi insists he has full respect for I Giallorossi and has stressed the importance of being on top of their game to pick up all three points.

"It will be important for us tomorrow; we want to build on the two wins," Inzaghi said.

"Roma are an excellent team and have a coach that I respect a lot. But I think my Lazio are no less.

"We must compete, be aggressive and determined. We know we can't make mistakes, there must be no mistakes."

Both of last season's meetings ended in a draw, which can be backed at 13/5, while Lazio are available at 2/1 and Roma are priced at 13/10 to come out on top.
