New Orleans Pelicans at Dallas Mavericks predictions

The Dallas Mavericks spent much of the opening two months of the season struggling for consistency, but that now appears to be a thing of the past, as at the time of writing they are on a seven-game winning run that leaves them 22-16 for the season.

It is no surprise that MVP contender Luka Dončić has been at the heart of that improvement, as he has been the top scorer for the Mavericks in all six of their recent wins, including registering 60 points in their 126-121 overtime success against the New York Knicks.

At the time of writing, no player has averaged more points than Dončić (34.2) in the NBA this season and he can inspire the Mavericks to another win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Pelicans (23-14) sit third in the Western Conference standings at the time of writing, one place above the Mavericks, but they have lost four of their last five road games.

New Orleans did win on their most recent visit to the American Airlines Center in December 2021, but that is their only success across their last six trips to the Mavericks and it is the team from Dallas who should be celebrating another victory this weekend.

Brooklyn Nets at Miami Heat predictions

The Brooklyn Nets are the in-form team in the NBA at the time of writing, as they are currently on a 12-game winning streak that has propelled them up to second in the Eastern Conference standings.

Jacque Vaughn has certainly been getting the best out of the star-studded Nets team since succeeding Steve Nash as head coach in November, with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant spearheading the team's rise up the standings.

The Nets will be hoping to further underline their credentials this weekend when they visit a Miami Heat team that have lost four of their last seven games at the FTX Arena and will face three testing road games before they return to their home court this weekend.

Miami were also beaten the last time Brooklyn came to town, with the Nets claiming a 110-95 win back in March. A repeat outcome this weekend would leave few surprised.

Utah Jazz at Memphis Grizzlies predictions

Ja Morant is spearheading the Memphis Grizzlies' push towards the top of the Western Conference this season, top-scoring in four of their last five games at the time of writing, including in their three successive wins over the Toronto Raptors, the New Orleans Pelicans, and the Sacramento Kings.

The Grizzlies sit second in the Western Conference at the time of writing with a 23-13 record, while they have been formidable when holding home-court advantage this season, winning 15 of their 18 games to date at the FedExForum.

Memphis will certainly fancy their chances of recording another home success when the Utah Jazz head to town this weekend, as Sunday's visitors have lost four games in a row at the time of writing.

Utah's fast start to the season (they were 10-3 after their opening 13 games) now seems little more than a distant memory and they may struggle to contain Morant and Memphis in this one.
