Golden State Warriors at Chicago Bulls predictions

The standout game of this weekend sees the team at the top of the Eastern Conference facing the team at the top of the Western Conference, as the Bulls and the Warriors meet in Illinois.

At the time of writing, it’s the Warriors who have the better season record (30-9) and Steve Kerr’s men have lost just three of their 21 games on their home court. On the road though, GSW have been beaten six times and have struggled for points in recent games – failing to score 100 points or more in four of their last six games.

The Bulls’ record at the United Center is a big reason why they look like genuine NBA title contenders this season, losing just four of their 18 home games to date. One of those teams to win there though are the Warriors, who collected a 93-119 win in November with Stephen Curry racking up 40 points in that victory. The GSW star man is currently averaging 26.8 points and 5.1 successful three-point shots per game.

The Bulls, though, are out for revenge and a win on Saturday would be a big statement by Billy Donovan’s side. They have the edge, especially when you consider the Warriors’ schedule this week, with tough games against Memphis and Milwaukee ahead of their weekend trip to Chicago.

Dallas Mavericks at Memphis Grizzlies predictions

Two of the NBA’s most in-form teams meet in Tennessee on Saturday, with Western rivals Dallas and Memphis both on course for the playoffs. At the time of writing, the pair are fifth and fourth in the table respectively, and rapidly closing the gap on the top two in the Western Conference.

The Grizzlies made it nine wins on the spin with a 127-119 win over The Lakers on Monday evening and continue to impress against their rivals. Ja Morant has been outstanding, but even without him they were able to see off the 76ers last week, with Desmond Bane also delivering big points (he’s currently averaging 17.7 per game).

The two teams have met on two previous occasions this season, with both winning once. Bane is the highest scorer from those meetings, with 29 points scored in Memphis’ victory in early December, and he could be influential in another Grizzlies victory.

Philadelphia 76ers at Miami Heat predictions

Philadelphia and Miami collide in Florida on Sunday, with the winner taking another big step towards the end of season playoffs.

The 76ers have scored 100+ points in each of their last six games to date, with Joel Embiid stealing the show. The man from Cameroon has been on fire, scoring over 30 points in each of those six encounters.

The Heat, who are currently two games ahead of their opponents, won a tight meeting in mid-December (101-96) but Philadelphia get the nod this time around with Embiid inspirational at present.

Los Angeles Lakers at Denver Nuggets predictions

The Lakers and the Nuggets, who both currently sit on the edge of the playoff places in the Western Conference, meet each other in Colorado on Sunday.

At the time of writing, LA are starting to put some form together with just one defeat in their last five games and with their main man finding his form. LeBron James is up to second in the top points scorers list, averaging 28.9 points per game and scoring 30+ points in their last three games.

Denver showed their credentials in their 89-86 win over the Warriors at the end of last month, but their recent record against the Lakers doesn’t make good reading for fans of the Nuggets. The Lakers have won four of their last five meetings and LeBron and co. are likely to see off Denver again this weekend.
