KIA Tigers at NC Dinos predictions
The NC Dinos have a record of 68-55-2 and lie in third place, three places better off than the KIA Tigers, who hold a 61-61-2 record. The two sides next play each other in four consecutive games, which includes a doubleheader on September 27.
The two teams have met 10 times this season, with the Tigers going 5-1-4 with an on-base percentage (OBP) of .346 and a slugging average (SLG) of .394, giving them a marginal numerical advantage over the Dinos (.347 OBP and .387 SLG).
However, recent league form favours the home side, as the Tigers have just one win in their last 10 games, compared to the Dinos’ seven.
The Dinos’ hot streak and league standing gives them the edge in this upcoming series over the Tigers, backed up by two standout stars in their squad. Ace pitcher Erick Fedde leads the league with both an earned run average (ERA) of 2.13 and 181 strikeouts, while teammate Son Ah-seop tops the offence statistics with a .344 batting average (AVG), ranks second with 167 hits, and fourth with 84 runs.
KT Wiz at LG Twins predictions
After a 5-1 win over the Hanwha Eagles on 24 September, the LG Twins boast a 78-48-2 record after 128 games to remain in first place, 6.5 games ahead of the KT Wiz in second. This midweek series could be huge for the Twins, as they will move ever closer to claiming the title outright if they win, with games running out for the chasing pack.
These two teams have met a total of 13 times already this season, with the Twins holding a slender advantage with seven wins. However, LG boast the most aggressive offence in the league with an OBP of .365 and an SLG of .400, and are charging towards the finish line, having won eight of their last 10 games. They will be expecting to maintain that momentum this week.
Doosan Bears at SSG Landers predictions
The fourth-placed Doosan Bears (67-59-1) next travel to the team immediately below them in the standings, the SSG Landers (64-62-2), for a three-game series that includes a doubleheader on September 27.
The Landers have a better team OBP (.333) and team SLG (.386) than the Bears (.332/.373), and have won eight of the 12 meetings between the two so far this season.
The Bears may have been on a roll lately, having won eight of their last 10 games, but the Landers will be feeling confident due to their superior head-to-head record and better underlying numbers.
Hanwha Eagles at Lotte Giants predictions
Going into this next series in seventh place with a 60-67 record, the Lotte Giants are hoping to climb out of the bottom half of the table with some winning momentum towards the end of the season. At the very least, they will be looking to maintain their recent form of five wins in their last 10 games.
Facing the eighth-placed Hanwha Eagles (52-70-6), Lotte have a clear advantage in the head-to-heads, having recorded seven wins from 11 meetings this season.
With just two wins from their last 10 matches and considering their current three-game losing streak, the Eagles will find it difficult to turn the tables on the home side in their two-game series this week.
