Brest and Nice have been setting the early pace in the French top flight, but PSG have the opportunity to go back to the summit - for Saturday at least - when they face a struggling Clermont Foot side.

Clermont Foot have picked up just one point from their first six games of the Ligue 1 campaign, and look set to have a real battle on their hands to avoid the drop.

PSG, on the other hand, have won four of their last five games in all competitions, and go into this game looking for three consecutive clean sheets following 2-0 and 4-0 wins over Borussia Dortmund and Marseille, respectively.

Monaco vs. Marseille predictions

Saturday’s late game should be another great battle, as Monaco look to add to Marseille’s woes when they meet at the Louis II Stadium.

Marseille are on a disappointing run of form, having gone without a win in their last four games in all competitions.

Les Phocéens played out three draws on the bounce against Nantes, Toulouse, and Ajax, before a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain last time out.

Monaco have had their own problems with consistency, but have lost just once in their six Ligue 1 games this season.

That came in a 1-0 defeat to high-flying Nice last time out, and Monaco will be looking to bounce back against a Marseille side that may well be struggling with confidence after their four match winless run.

Nice vs. Brest predictions

In an unlikely battle at the top end of the Ligue 1 standings, Nice host Brest at the Allianz Riviera on Sunday.

Both teams have been punching above their weight since the start of the season, with Brest being the frontrunners going into this round of fixtures after earning 13 points from their first six outings. Meanwhile, unbeaten Nice are just a point behind in second place.

The Allianz Riviera has not been a happy hunting ground for Brest over the years, as they have never won at the stadium.

After losing each of their last three visits to Nice, it wouldn’t be surprising to see that trend continue, and a home victory is available at 1.746*.
